When are courses run?

Courses are designed to be a 5 week, progressive programme. Groups are kept small and provide additional opportunities to meet new friends. Those who attend a massage course together, may also choose to continue onto a yoga course together.

It should be noted that my yoga classes are not aimed at aduts who can just bring babies along, or a variation on baby massage and baby sensory. My yoga classes are predominantly designed for babies, with stretches and poses specifically targeted towards their wellbeing and development. However, throughout the class, there will be some relaxation techniques included for carers and the opportunity to have a blissful 5 minutes of relaxation at the end....

Courses are currently run in Leyton in East London (Mondays @ 9.30am) and Loughton in Essex (Thursdays @ 3.30pm). Please contact me for information on courses available near you. Please also note, that both these courses are progressive and run for babies from the age of 16 weeks.

Classes are 1 hour long, inclusive of time for refreshments and a chat at the end. Yoga mats will be provided, but you may also wish to bring a cushion to sit on also.

How old should my baby be to attend a yoga course?

Babies must be a minimum of 8 weeks, in order to attend my yoga courses and depending on how active your child is, the recommended maximum age is around 18 months. Babies aged 8-20 weeks would be "Beginner" level, with those 20+ weeks  being "Advanced" level.

The Butterfly Training baby massage and baby yoga courses are fully accredited by the International Institute for Complementary Therapists (IICT), the Independent Professional Therapists Institute (IPTI), the Complementary Therapists Association (CThA) and the Royal Colleage of Midwives (RCM). Training was completed with Hands on Babies (www.handsonbabies.co.uk), who are the only organisation to offer an RCM accrediated course in the UK.
